Cheat's Yum Cha Steamed Ribs

I love yum cha and one of my favourites are those little bowls of steamed spare ribs. Blake Family Grocers has all the ingredients to make these fun, tasty, and easy to make version of the Cantonese classic.

Serves 4  

  • 750g pork spareribs

  • 4 tablespoons hoisin sauce

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon Nanking vinegar

  • ¼ cup tinned black beans

  • 1 tablespoon corn flour

  • 1 mild long green chili, finely chopped

  • 1 mild long red chili, finely chopped

Remove the skin from the spareribs. Cut into 1cm wide slices. Place in a bowl and mix with the other ingredients except for the chillies. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Place in heat-proof dishes and then into bamboo steamers. Steam for 10-15 minutes or until cooked through. Serve as a snack or with rice as a meal.
